Author’s Opinion: Organization still need different types of information systems serving various organizational levels, functions and business processes, and they increasingly need systems providing enterprise-wide integration. These needs create both opportunities and challenges.
My Opinion: I agree with the author’s opinion. I think Information System creates a lot of opportunities for the organization. But I disagree about the challenges of using business Information Systems. I think the challenges provided by the author are not the only major Challenges of using business Information Systems.

Recommendation to overcome the Challenges: A number of solutions exist to the challenges I have just described.
1. Inventorying the firm’s Information System for a 360 degree view of Information. Company should develop a list of firm wide information requirements to get a 360-degree view of the most important information needs for the company as a whole.
2. Employee and Management Education. Systems are usually not obvious or self-taught for most people. You will need to ensure that you understand how much training is required to support new systems, and budget accordingly.
3. Accounting for the Costs and the Benefits of Information System. To manage the demand for information services, company will need an accounting system for information services. The system should use some method for charging the budgets of various divisions, departments, and groups that directly benefit from a system. And there are other services that should not be charged to any group because they are a part of the firm’s general information technology (IT) infrastructure and serve everyone.
